My Boys

I had to post this picture...
This is what I come home to everyday! Both boys sitting on the porch or playing on the front lawn, waiting for daddy to come home. I love it! This is what being a daddy is all about!
When I arrive at my exit, I call home and Mason asks "Is it time to wait on the porch?!" After I answer "Yes" I can hear the scramble and chaos of trying to round everyone up to greet me... When I arrive home, the boys are so ecstatic. They usually have a story to tell me or an art project to show me, it just warms my heart. I love my boys.

Yeah... Jeramy always gets a better homecoming greeting then me. The big kids all run to him, and even Maggie squeals when she hears the door squeak and the kids all run. HECK! Even the dog runs to greet him!

There is just something special about when dad gets home.

I love it!

So sweet and of course you have a camera with you to capture that moment.
What about a pic of Laura with the sigh of relief (and joy to see you of course) that daddy is home.

LIFE is good! it's these daily traditions that create the warm memories of childhood. and the fact that you appreciate these moments and see them for the gems that they are, makes your family truly special...
and of course it goes without saying your boys are so adorable!

Coming home for me is:
I hear; "Dad's Home" screaming from the other room. Then the feet pounding on the floor as they run to....Tackle me. Then, with both small faces looking down on me (because I'm on the floor and they are sitting on my stomach). "Daddy, Daddy, let's play Monster, let's run around the yard, let's jump up and down"!! "Come on..."

I smile and say absolutely let's go.... I don't know where I find the energy.

I wish they just sat on the lawn and said, "Daddy, Daddy, come lay on the lawn and relax...we'll grab you a beer"...now we're talkin' :)

I love the picture of Laura's sigh of relief! I can feel that one a mile away - I just don't know if she would let me photograph her for the blog!

Love it.

Garrett, Ohhh yeah, me too!!! Believe me. I just happened to capture the calm before the storm!!! I don't know where we find the energy either! After a long hard day at work, we come home to two energetic little boys, waiting to attack! I suppose that when we look into their cute little 'puppy dog' eyes and listening to their inquisitive, adorable little voices we can't say 'No'?

this reminds me so much of my husband...he's said it a million times, the best part of his day is coming home to "his girls". and after a million false alarms, he IS coming home early from the mideast this week! i don't know if i'll be able to capture that "coming home" with all of my own emotion going, but i'm gonna try. i love hearing what happens when you come home to the warm arms of your family, Matt & Garrett. but i suspect the energy you get is from the peace you feel in being right where you want to be. you don't have to WORK or TRY all you have to do is BE and there is nothing better...

I love this routine that we have of waiting for you on the porch. We're all so excited to see you at the end of the day. I have to remember to capture it on video!

And, I would probably let you photograph me if you warned me first. ;-)
